Doctor Service TrainingTo exercise the medical work in Germany you need either the approval or occupational permit. The approval can be requested by all EU citizens with an EU diploma. There is no time limit and it is valid in the whole of Germany. The occupation permit, however, is time to a maximum of 4 years and locally to a maximum of a federal state. It may be withdrawn by doctors from countries outside the European Union or European Economic Area and Switzerland or even as a temporary occupation permit by doctors with the European Union citizenship, but who are in possession of a non-EU Diploma.

The competent authorities may permit exceptions in some justified cases in regard to certain countries. This includes the existence of a formal request of the foreign government, which confirmes the appropriateness of the work stay in Germany and the willingness of the candidate to return…..

Foreign scholarship holders of health professionals can be admitted dependent personal services if they are under scholarship programs of the World Health Organization (WHO) or the Council of Europe or within the framework of scholarship programs.

Doctors who have completed university education, have a recognized approval or professional licence and who aspire to a specialist, should apply as a trainee-assistant in a hospital or doctors' practice.

The training (specialist training) in Germany will take place exclusively within the framework of clinical activity and will be paid accordingly (if the clinic is not visited as a visiting doctor or retraining).
